DESCRIPTION:Poetry reading – Ariana Reines & Cecilia Vicuña – Joseph Henry House – 4.30 pm \n  \nReception to follow \n  \nLunchtime discussion – Poetry & Bilingualism – Mathey College Private Dining Hall – 12 pm \nThe poets will discuss their work\, and we will consider questions of translation\, national\, public and private languages. \nThere are limited spaces at lunch\, so if you’d like to attend please RSVP to osxr@princeton.edu. \n\nCeciliaVicuña is a Chilean visual artist and poet-performer. The author of twenty poetry books published in Europe\, Latin America and the U.S.\, she performs and exhibits her work widely. A precursor of conceptual\, impermanent art and improvisatory oral performance\, her work deals with the interactions between language\, earth and textiles. She co-edited the Oxford Book of Latin American Poetry\, New York\, 2009. In 2012 Ugly Duckling Presse published Spit Temple: The Selected Performances of CeciliaVicuña. \n  \n\nAriana Reines is a poet\, playwright and translator. Her books include The Cow (2006)\, which won the Alberta Prize from Fence Books. Michael Silverblatt described Reines as “one of the crucial voices of her generation”. Her first play Telephone (2009) was performed at the Cherry Lane Theater and received two Obie Awards. She has taught at Columbia University and the European Graduate School\, and was the Roberta C. Holloway Lecturer in Poetry at the University of California-Berkeley in 2009\, the youngest poet to ever hold that position.
