Foreign Language Love Poetry Reading

February 14 @ 4:30 pm – 6:00 pm

Hosted by Princeton Center for Language Study

We are having our third annual Valentine’s Day poetry slam on Thursday, February 14th at 4:30pm!  All are welcome.

PCLS invites students and faculty alike to find and share a love-themed poem — in any language other than English!  Please gather with us here on the afternoon of Valentine’s Day to read (or sing!) your poem aloud in the original language, as well as provide us all with an English translation.  Please submit the poem to us here by the day before (Wednesday), so we can add you to the program.

Whether you find a poem in a language you are a native speaker of, or of one you are currently studying, we welcome all kinds of non-English verse.  We also welcome original poetry as well, for those who have been feeling really creative this Valentine’s season.  If you are a language program student, this event will give you an opportunity to practice your pronunciation in the language you are learning.

Whether the poem is in a currently-spoken language, or in an ancient one, we eagerly look forward to hearing what you find to share.  We’ll have plenty of chocolate, strawberries, and cake to mark the occasion.  And if you don’t have a poem to share, please still come to sit back and enjoy hearing the other poems read.
