Bernadette Mayer & Hannah Gamble Reading at the New School

On Tuesday, February 19th, 2013, at 6:30pm, Fence Journal is putting on a reading at the New School in New York City showcasing the work of Hannah Gamble and Bernadette Mayer.
Hannah Gamble is the author of Your Invitation to a Modest Breakfast, selected by Bernadette Mayer for the 2011 National Poetry Series and to be published by Fence in 2012. Hannah is the Poet-in-Residence at Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago and also teaches literature classes at Prairie State College in Chicago Heights. Her poems and interviews appear or are forthcoming in APR, Indiana Review, Ecotone, Mid-American Review, and elsewhere.
Bernadette Mayer is the author of numerous books of poetry and prose, including: Poetry State Forest, Scarlet Tanager, Two Haloed Mourners: Poems, Proper Name and Other Stories, The Desires of Mothers to Please Others in Letters, The Bernadette Mayer Reader, Sonnets, Midwinter Day, The Golden Book of Words, and Ceremony Latin. From 1972 to 1974, Mayer and conceptual artist Vito Acconci edited the journal 0 TO 9. With writer and publisher Lewis Warsh, she edited United Artists Press. She has taught writing workshops at The Poetry Project at St. Mark’s Church in New York City for many years and she served as the Poetry Project’s director during the 1980s.
