The acclaimed New York Times bestselling author of Smash CutFlannery, and City Poet delivers the first popular biography of Rumi, the thirteenth-century Persian poet revered by contemporary Western readers. Pulitzer Prize winning poet Paul Muldoon joins Brad Gooch for a conversation about Rumi’s life and poetry.
Brad Gooch is the author of the acclaimed biographies City Poet: The Life and Times of Frank O’Hara and Flannery: A Life of Flannery O’Connor, as well as other nonfiction and three novels. The recipient of the National Endowment for the Humanities and Guggenheim fellowships, he is professor of English at William Paterson University. Paul Muldoon is the author of thirteen books of poetry, most recently Selected Poems: 1968-2014. He is the poetry editor for The New Yorker and teaches Creative Writing at Princton University.
