If you are going into the city this weekend, our very own Sara Marcus teams up with Michelle Tea for a reading with The Poetry Project, Friday, November 16th, 10pm.

Sara Marcus’s first book, Girls to the Front: The True Story of the Riot Grrrl Revolution, was published by Harper Perennial in 2010. Her criticism and prose appear in publications including Artforum, BookforumThe Nation, Los Angeles Review of Books, Slate, Salon, the San Francisco Chronicle, the anthology Dreaming in Public: Building the Occupy Movement, and a forthcoming collection of the writings of the late feminist critic Ellen Willis. Her poetry has been published in Encyclopedia, EOAGH, With + Stand, DeathThe Art of Touring, and elsewhere. She is a founding editor of New Herring Press, a collectively run micropress that publishes prose chapbooks.

Michelle Tea is the Executive Director of RADAR Productions, which hosts queer-centric literary projects such as San Francisco’s monthly RADAR Reading Series, the international Sister Spit tours, and the annual Radar LAB writers and artists retreat. She is the editor of Sister Spit Books, an imprint of City Lights. Her most recent publication is the anthology Sister Spit: Writing, Rants and Reminiscence From the Road, which she edited. The first in a young adult fantasy series, A Mermaid in Chelsea Creek, will be published in January by McSweeney’s. She blogs about trying to get pregnant for xoJane.com
