He was an embedded reporter in Iraq during 2006 and 2010 and covered the war for The Washington Post Magazine, Slate, and NPR. James Richardson is a celebrated poet and Professor of Creative Writing at Princeton. His previous books include By the Numbers: Poems and Aphorisms, which was a 2010 National Book Award finalist; Interglacial: New and Selected Poems and Aphorisms, which was a finalist for the 2004 National Book Critics Circle Award; Vectors: Aphorisms and Ten Second Essays; How Things Are; As If; Second Guesses; and Reservations.
